… wait … before the banishment … everything came from something that came before … the circle … the red circle … walking on stilts … images of scholars talking to stones … ringing gongs by the river of forgetfulness … videos of a mask walking through tall grasses … a video …

…wait … i was watching a video … i had been taking notes … it was a long time ago i had climbed a ladder looking for an escape … found …

… remember … there were two ways … one to have a sixteen foot ladder and open the ceiling trapdoor or to lean a ten foot ladder and work up to the second shelf-like section to open the second trapdoor … i kept hearing noises and wanted easy, ready access to scale quickly up to the attic at a moments notice … built a permanent ladder …

… wait … when the dreamer had asked about the video i knew something else was in the dream … something what was meant when it was really about another thing … when writing as the scribe it was necessary to look past the first given words towards finding the other ones right behind … 

… wait … i had learned to wait a second longer than normal to catch the words behind … to hear what is behind … it’s a form of dream translation … not a transliteration … something closer to autodreamnography …

… remember … the scribe/the dream/the dreamer become one and the same … the notion of a coherent, individual dreamer and the scribe caught in conventions of realist objective positioning is … is beyond … it’s all about the voice and place in-between … the dream …

… wait … beyond the dream … investigate the how of the dream …so not who made the video rather how the video was made … the permanent ladder was the same as the staircase that went to the basement … in the  basement was the never entered room under the stairs … the space under the stairs had a door … an underground room … noises above in the attic  and the emptiness below in the basement room … beyond the dream …

… wait … what if the dream is neither above or below … beside … unmask the mask move from suspicion to trust … a spectre … the night a man on a horse rode into the temple … a metis man on a white horse … dismounting he suggested this was a good place to make camp … close enough to the river …. sheltered enough for protection … hidden enough for protection … this is the place …

… remember … this is a negotiated memory … lifelines …

 ... moved into a new place ...  ... first night there in a deep sleep was visited by a short middle aged man ... well dressed in a black suit ... seemed to be Korean but not sure ... although silent the figure's presence was so strong i was pulled out of dream to fully awake ... as I lay in bed the after image of him remained standing silently in the hallway just outside the open bedroom door ... he wasn't really looking at me but i felt he sensed i was now aware of his presence and didn't wish to startle me ... finally assured he was a dream figure i fell back to sleep ... only later to be visited again ...  this time not in dream but upon waking saw him standing fully in the doorway ...  a serious, calm face he looked directly into my eyes ...  ...  i knew he was an apparition  & examined his demeanour ... he was likewise examining me with a gentle questioning look ... oh a previous owner of the apartment i thought ... he didn't move or speak ju...
